Combination Pipe Welder-Orange, Texas

Currently looking for Combination Welders for both Dayshift and Nightshift for our CP Chem project in Orange, Texas.  This is a DISA project a full background, hair follicle and UA is required.

Experience: 

• Experience in the industrial industry (petrochemical, power plant, cement plant) or related field, with four or more years of experience as a Combo Pipe Welder.  
• Must have a working knowledge of pipefitting techniques  
• Strong working knowledge of and experience working with pipe welding. 
• Experience with the methods and techniques used to level, plumb, align, and set the equipment and piping. 
• Knowledge of and experience working with the chemical composition of metals, compounds, alloys, heat transfer rates, thermal expansion, and material strength.   

Skills:

• Able to effectively use verbal and written communication skills. 
• Able to use torch cutting equipment as well as pipe cutting/beveling machines. 
• Knowledge of materials that require the proper pre-heating before cutting or welding. 
• Able to understand and apply applicable welding codes. 
• Able to read and understand weld procedures 
• Able to weld in various positions :2G, 5G, 6G, etc. 
• Able to weld with dual/different processes. 
• Able to pass welding test per project specifications and/or weld procedure. 
• Able to perform welding duties to meet project specifications and code criteria. 
• Successfully complete the appropriate PCL skills assessment tests
