Outside Machinist

Overview

We are seeking an Outside Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of machining tasks, including assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the operational efficiency and reliability of our equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and demonstrate proficiency in using various tools and techniques to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings to assemble and repair machinery.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters for accurate measurements.
• Perform welding, soldering, and fabrication tasks as required for repairs or modifications.
• Engage in rigging operations to safely lift and position heavy components during assembly or maintenance.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with services rendered.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during all operations.
• Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and quality.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician or machinist with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices is preferred.
• Experience in the military or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in electrical systems is a plus, alongside experience with sheet metal work.
• Strong understanding of assembly processes, including the use of power tools and heavy lifting techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with effective communication abilities for customer interaction.
