Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman/Journeywoman Shipfitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and repair of ship structures and components, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our operations, supporting the construction and maintenance of vessels. Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute shipfitting tasks.
• Perform assembly and fabrication of metal structures using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Conduct welding operations in accordance with industry standards to ensure structural integrity.
• Utilize electrical experience for installation and maintenance of electrical systems on vessels.
• Execute rigging tasks safely and efficiently while handling heavy lifting requirements.
• Provide exceptional customer service by collaborating with team members and addressing project needs effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Journeyman/Journeywoman Shipfitter or in a similar role within the maritime industry.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with sheet metal work, soldering techniques, and the use of calipers and ohmmeters.
• Previous service technician experience is preferred; military background is a plus.
• Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
