Fabrication Shop Pipefitter | $40/hr + $140/Day Per Diem | DFW Area, TX

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking experienced Fabrication Shop Pipefitters for a long-term opportunity at a large pipe fabrication facility in the Dallas–Fort Worth, TX area.

We are looking for skilled pipefitters who can independently read piping isometric drawings, lay out and fit carbon steel pipe, and assemble fabricated pipe spools accurately from prints.

This is a production fabrication environment, so candidates must have strong fit-up fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality while working efficiently.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $40.00/hour
• Per Diem: $140/day, paid all 7 days for qualified travelers
• Schedule: Monday–Saturday
• Hours: 60 hours per week
• Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM | 10-hour shifts
• Duration: Long-term opportunity

Qualified travelers must reside at least 60 miles from the jobsite to receive per diem. Employees must work their full scheduled hours to maintain eligibility for seven-day per diem.

What You'll Do

• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings and fabrication prints
• Lay out, fit, and assemble carbon steel piping
• Assemble pre-cut piping components into completed pipe spools
• Fit flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, and other piping components
• Perform swing joints, rolling offsets, and other required layouts
• Properly orient and align flanges
• Maintain correct weld gaps throughout the fit-up process
• Verify assemblies are plumb, level, square, and within required tolerances
• Take accurate measurements and perform pipe layout
• Work closely with welders to prepare assemblies for tack welding and final welding
• Inspect completed fit-up before releasing assemblies for welding
• Follow all shop safety, quality, and fabrication procedures

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of professional pipefitting experience
• Strong carbon steel pipefitting experience required
• Ability to independently read and work from piping isometric drawings
• Working knowledge of swing joints and rolling offsets required
• Strong pipe layout, measuring, and fabrication skills
• Experience fitting and orienting flanges
• Ability to maintain proper weld gaps during fit-up
• Proficiency with tape measures, levels, squares, and standard pipefitting tools
• Fabrication shop experience strongly preferred
• Reliable attendance and availability to work scheduled overtime
• Ability to successfully complete the required hands-on pipefitter test

Hands-On Pipefitter Test

Candidates must successfully complete a practical pipefitter test consisting of three pipe assemblies built from isometric drawings within three hours.

The test will evaluate:

• Ability to accurately read piping isometrics
• Pipe layout and fit-up accuracy
• Flange orientation and alignment
• Swing joints and rolling offsets
• Proper weld gaps
• Plumb, level, and square assemblies
• Overall fabrication quality and workmanship

Pipe and fittings will be provided pre-cut, and a welder will be available for tack welding. The candidate is responsible for completing the layout, fit-up, and assembly.
