Rig Welder (DBA $63.80/hr.) Seeking qualified and dedicated individual to build a career while exceeding the highest quality and safety standards. Rig Welders are assigned to a crew to install or replace welded piping facilities underground and above ground by preparing and performing pipe welding operations for installation.
Responsibilities include: promote and practice good safety at all times; verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in layout, pipefitting, fabrication, welding in accordance to shop drawings, specifications, and industry standards; Inspect work and maintain quality standards per contract documents.
Skills and Qualifications include: proficient in TIG/GTAW and SMAW welding procedures; work a regular 10 hour shift outside in various and sometimes extreme temperatures; withstand prolonged and repeated carrying, lifting or positioning of material up to 50 lbs; bend, lay, kneel occasionally; position/reach overhead occasionally; Climb ladders, work from scaffolds or lifts to access work. Appropriate PPE required including but not limited to vests, hard hats, steel toe work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection. Ability to hear, comprehend and communicate specific directions or safety instructions in English to ensure the safety of all; ability to work with a heightened awareness within the “red zone” of heavy equipment; distinguish safety colors with 20/20 eyesight using corrective lenses if necessary; quick and accurate hand-eye coordination to work safely; ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times;
Education and Experience include: minimum 5 years experience as welder in welded fuel piping systems installation and maintenance; including commercial fuels, jet fuel, bulk oil, and terminal work. Must be knowledgeable of systems operation and have ability to read shop drawings (including P&ID’s). Must have experience installing up to 16” diameter piping – in excavated and above ground conditions. Must be knowledgeable of welding code and procedures.
Employment contingent on background check, driving record, and drug screening. Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations in a 3 year period and no major violation / DUIs within a five year period. Must be able to qualify for secure access. Must have own Rig with full insurance coverage.
