Full Job Description


  • Estimate work on construction projects by reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Complete quantity take-offs, prepare cost estimates, organize bid bonds, and communicate with sub-trades to determine financial needs for project completion
  • Estimate labor, material, and time requirements to compute overall cost on bidded projects
  • Evaluate offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements
  • Specify materials, identify subcontractors, and negotiate pricing to obtain bids from vendors/subcontractors
  • Maintain cost keys/price masters and resolve cost discrepancies
  • Create and present routine and/or special reports to upper management weekly
  • Maintain quality service and continuity by documenting/communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs between corporate, division, and local work teams
  • Visit sites, warehouses, and other venues as needed to perform estimating work
  • Perform complex analysis and prepare relevant/reliable forecasts


  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related field
  • Must have at least four (4) years working experience as a construction estimator in a healthcare/hospital setting
  • Must have current OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Must be familiar with federal costing codes and demonstrate a good understanding of data analysis methods/KPIs
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of project management, estimating projects valued at $1+ million (or higher)
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Pro-Core (or other construction software programs)
  • Must be organized and able to manage all aspects of a construction project
  • Must be able to work in an office and in the field in a fast-paced environment with variable working hours
  • Must be willing and able to travel to other locations as needed
  • This position requires strong manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina


  • Prior military experience is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with complex data research activities is preferred
  • Familiarity with computer programs like Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid, and McCormick Estimating is preferred
  • Seeking individuals with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Seeking individuals with excellent written/verbal communication and strong client-facing skills
