Job Description

Fundamental Job Duties
  • Basic safety
  • Proper identification, use and care of hand tools
  • Proper identification, use and care of power tools
  • Perform clean up duties
  • Basic rigging
  • Perform light rigging operations
  • Basic math
  • Know all crane operating hand signals
  • Identify crane types
  • Identify rigging equipment
  • Perform maintenance inspections
  • Perform crane inspections
  • Operate conventional boom cranes
  • Responsibilities operating various power driven construction equipment such as, but not limited to, cherry- picker, crane, hoists, derricks, shovels, tractors, backhoe, bulldozer, scrappers or motor graders, dragline, front-end loader which are used to excavate, move and grade search, erect structural and reinforcing steel.
  • Read and use operators manual
  • Assist with scheduled service and maintenance
  • Perform crane set up
  • Assist with critical lift decision
  • Operate up to 18 ton hydraulic boom crane
  • Read and calculate capacities from load chart for hydraulic boom cranes
  • Inspect rigging configuration for safe lifting operations
  • Operate hydraulic boom cranes, not tuck type
  • Selection of hydraulic boom cranes for lifting operations
  • Perform critical lifts with hydraulic boom cranes (truck type also)
  • Read and calculate capacity charts for conventional boom cranes
  • Identify components and controls of machine
  • Perform daily service and maintenance of machine
