Pay rate- $30-40/hour plus ** Weekly per diem**

Job Description:

• Complete fillet and butt welds using the SMAW process (multi-pass) in all positions.
• Fuse inserts and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe using SMAW and GTAW processes in 6G and 6GR positions.
• Carbon 309 Stainless Steel Wired 20 Copper Nickel (TIG).
• Heat oxygen/propane heating torch.
• Perform grinding and pick up work as needed.
• Properly use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and six-inch scale.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of naval/commercial pipe welding experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
• Pass 10 panel quick drug screen and background check.
• Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces.
• Lift 50lbs without assistance.
• Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
