Position Overview

Hutco Inc is seeking experienced Structural Welders for long-term assignments in the Hampton roads area. If you are a dependable welder with strong multi-pass and all-position welding experience, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using:
  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
  • FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
  • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
  • GMAW-P (Pulse Arc Welding)
• Use welding techniques including oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and TIG
• Comprehend and follow blueprints, sketches, and templates
• Work safely in confined spaces, including accessing areas through manholes
• Operate various hand tools and trade-specific instruments

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of structural welding experience at NNS or naval shipyards
• Skilled in:
• All-position welds: 2G, 3G, 4G with SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P
• Using fillet and butt weld gauges
• Air Carbon Arc Gouging
• Technical welding training preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Must be physically able to perform job duties in shipyard/industrial environments
• Must demonstrate reliability and strong work ethic

Must pass:

• Visual Inspection of Welds Level I
• Welders Vision Test
• Carbon Arc Gouging Proficiency
• Mandatory: Pass weld qualification tests on-site at Newport News Welding School
