
Matrix Service storage tank division is currently looking for Superintendents with aboveground storage tanks and specialty vessel new builds and repairs experience. Position will also supervise craft employees on location when needed. Position requires travel for extended or short periods of time when the job requires it.
Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for managing and leading craft employees for the aboveground storage tank and specialty vessel business lines.
Essential Functions
- Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
- Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
- Plans and supervises work activities. Determines method of construction, safety procedures and requirements, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documents actual hours worked.
- Coordinates assigned work with different crafts, company departments and/or other contractors.
- Maintains liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Assists in resolving construction problems and safety issues, as required.
- Conducts accident investigations with safety department, as required.
- Maintains communication with the HR Department to resolve issues of requisitioning required manpower.
- Monitors craft compliance with project safety program requirements. Documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
- Maintains liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
- Conducts field safety audits, as required and maintains a complete understanding of Corporate Safety Manual and requirements.
- Performs additional responsibilities, as directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 year's experience leading Aboveground Storage Tank crews for new builds.
- Strong understanding of Aboveground Storage Tanks - focus on New Tank build experience is required.
- Must be able to pass weld test.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and/or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of API standards, preferred.
