Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and repair structural steel frameworks using various welding techniques including MIG, FCAW
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform rigging operations to lift and position heavy materials using cranes, forklifts, and other mechanical devices while adhering to safety protocols.
- Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure precise fabrication according to ASME codes & standards.
- Cut, thread pipes, solder components, and perform sheet metal work as required for various structural projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety procedures and ensuring proper handling of tools and materials.
- Collaborate with team members on-site to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on structural steel or manufacturing environments.
- Skilled in MIG welding, FCAW welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, calipers, micrometers, and other fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures using cranes or forklifts for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, ductwork installation, assembly processes, and machining is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to welding and fabrication projects.
- Strong basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work at heights with proper safety measures in place; physical strength and stamina required for demanding physical tasks.
