Job Summary
As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from early concept through final design. This role is ideal for a seasoned estimator who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys collaborating across engineering and operations, and brings both technical expertise and commercial acumen to the preconstruction process. You will lead estimating efforts, identify opportunities to optimize design and cost, and serve as a trusted partner to internal teams, clients, and engineers. Your ability to anticipate risk, challenge assumptions, and deliver accurate, competitive estimates will directly influence project success and long-term client relationships.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

·       Lead the full estimating lifecycle from conceptual budgeting through 100% construction documents

·       Analyze drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, design discrepancies, and risk factors

·       Develop detailed electrical estimates, including labor, material, and subcontractor scopes

·       Utilize Accubid Anywhere for takeoffs, estimate development, and document management

·       Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure complete and accurate scope coverage

·       Prepare scopes of work, pricing proposals, and value engineering recommendations

·       Maintain and manage estimate deliverables including trend logs, budgets, and risk registers

·       Partner closely with operations and engineering teams to identify constructability improvements and design solutions

·       Participate in design reviews and client meetings; provide strategic input throughout project development

·       Mentor and support junior estimators; contribute to team capability and process improvement

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, and key project stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Required: (2-4 bullets max)

·       5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within water/wastewater or industrial infrastructure

·       Strong experience developing estimates across multiple project phases (conceptual through IFC)

·       Proficiency in Accubid (Accubid Anywhere preferred), Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office

·       Solid understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices

·       Demonstrated ability to analyze complex documents and produce accurate, competitive estimates

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to engage directly with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders

·       High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

·       Willingness to travel as needed

 

Preferred:

·       Experience supporting project management or operations teams

·       Background in heavy industrial, municipal, or process-driven environments

·       Proven ability to lead estimating efforts on large-scale or complex project

·       Walking, visiting construction & customer sites - uneven surfaces, exposure to the elements, PPE required.
