Traveling Structural Steel Foreman — Direct Hire

Job Description

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Location: Travel Required (Client-Specific Region — details provided at interview)
Industry: Industrial / Commercial Construction — Structural Steel Erection

About the Role

We're hiring an experienced Structural Steel Foreman to lead field crews on industrial and commercial erection projects. This is a direct-hire, permanent position with a company that keeps its people working and its crews well-supported. If you know how to read the iron, run a safe jobsite, and keep a crew moving on schedule, we want to talk.

This role travels to project sites within a defined regional footprint. Lodging and travel details are discussed during the interview.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise structural steel erection crews from mobilization through topping out
  • Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and shop drawings
  • Coordinate daily work sequencing, crane picks, and crew assignments
  • Enforce site safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain OSHA compliance
  • Manage material staging, bolt-up, plumbing, and connection detail
  • Communicate progress, manpower needs, and site conditions to project management
  • Hold the crew accountable to quality, schedule, and production targets

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in structural steel erection, with proven foreman/lead experience
  • Strong ability to read structural and erection drawings
  • Working knowledge of rigging, crane signaling, and connection procedures
  • Solid understanding of OSHA jobsite safety requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites
  • Leadership presence — you set the tone and the crew follows
  • Reliable, safety-first, and production-minded

Preferred: OSHA 30, current rigging/signal certifications, ironworker background

Why This Role

  • Direct hire — permanent position, not a temp placement
  • Steady pipeline of work and long-term stability
  • Travel and lodging support
  • Lead crews on real industrial and commercial projects
  • Company that values experienced field leadership
