QA/QC Superintendent

Job Summary The QA/QC field Superintendent is responsible for leading field execution by overseeing QA/QC foremen and crews, coordinating work activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to required quality standards. This role serves as the primary link between field operations and project leaders.

Leadership

  • Lead multiple crews with a strong, accountable, and positive culture aligned with company values.
  • Set clear expectations, address performance issues, and proactively resolve team challenges.
  • Model leadership behaviors and drive engagement, accountability, and results.

Execution & Productivity

  • Oversee planning and execution of daily and short-term work across crews or areas.
  • Optimize labor, materials, tools, and equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics (hours, output, productivity) and adjust plans as needed.
  • Lead or ensure effective daily huddles that align teams to priorities and expectations.

Quality & Schedule

  • Ensure all work consistently meets or exceeds plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify risks to quality or schedule and implement corrective actions.
  • Own schedule adherence and ensure accurate, timely documentation and reporting.

Safety

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead safety initiatives, audits, and incident reviews; drive corrective actions.
  • Hold teams accountable for safe work practices and continuous safety improvement.

Coordination

  • Coordinate across teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of work, resources, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and other functions to resolve constraints.
  • Anticipate and address workflow, scheduling, and material needs.

Coaching & Development

  • Actively develop crew leads and team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Identify skill gaps and support training and development plans.
  • Conduct performance discussions and contribute to evaluations and advancement decisions.

Planning

  • Lead short-term planning efforts and contribute to longer-term project planning.
  • Forecast labor, equipment, and material needs to support execution.
  • Ensure teams are prepared with the resources and information needed for upcoming work.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of trade school, apprenticeship, or certified technical training preferred
  • Combination of education and at least 7-10 years of relevant QA/QC experience are required.
  • QA/QC or quality-related certifications or training are recommended (e.g., ASQ, CWI)
  • Proven experience overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to verify work against plans, standards, and specifications.
  • Experience leading inspections, testing, and turnover documentation.
  • Ability to identify nonconformance and drive corrective actions.
  • Proven experience with audit processes and quality management systems
