Mechanical Technician (Pipefitters, Ironworkers, Welders, Riggers)

xAI is building next-generation AI supercomputing campuses. We’re hiring experienced & skilled tradespeople for long-term, direct-hire roles on our large-scale Memphis-area expansion.

These positions focus on standing the buildings up and installing cooling, pipe, steel, and heavy equipment (the first ~0–70% of the job: structure and mechanical install, not finish work).

What you’ll do

• Erect structural steel, pipe racks, mezzanines, and equipment supports
• Install process/cooling piping, miscellaneous metals, and heavy equipment
• Rig, hoist, bolt, weld, and work to drawings and industry standards
• Coordinate with other trades in a fast-paced industrial construction environment
• Work at heights, outdoors, and during extended hours/nights/weekends as needed

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of relevant experience (new-build plant, refinery, power, or similar industrial work is a strong fit)
• Ability to read drawings and perform quality bolt-up, welding, fitting, and rigging
• Strong safety mindset (OSHA 10 minimum; additional certs preferred)
• Willingness to work at heights, in all weather, and travel to sites during peak phases
