PROJECT ENGINEER – ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION

Location: North Dakota

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Electrical Construction to support the successful execution of large-scale electrical construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong electrical construction background who is comfortable working on both the office and field sides of a project.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, and field teams to coordinate project activities, maintain accurate documentation, identify potential issues, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget.

A Journeyman Electrician license is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and field leadership with day-to-day project coordination

  • Prepare, track, and respond to RFIs and submittals

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents

  • Identify design conflicts and coordinate solutions with field and project teams

  • Assist with change orders, procurement, scheduling, and project documentation

  • Coordinate BIM/VDC activities and assist with model coordination

  • Work closely with Superintendents and General Foremen to resolve field issues

  • Track project progress and communicate updates to project leadership

  • Assist with material and equipment procurement and delivery coordination

  • Help identify and resolve potential issues before they impact project schedule, cost, or quality

  • Maintain organized and accurate project records

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in electrical construction is required

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar construction/project coordination role preferred

  • Ability to read and understand electrical construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to identify conflicts and coordinate solutions effectively

  • Comfortable working with both office personnel and field leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment

  • Journeyman license is not required

Preferred Experience

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Procore

  • Bluebeam

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud

  • Revit

  • Navisworks

  • BIM/VDC coordination

Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial projects, or other large-scale electrical construction is highly preferred.

Compensation & Schedule

💰 $40–$60/hour + Per Diem
⏰ 60+ hours per week
