Industrial Electrician
BlueWave is hiring multiple Industrial Electricians to support large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects in Brownsville, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee. Opportunities are available for experienced non-licensed electricians, licensed journeymen, and electricians specializing in low- or medium-voltage power systems.
These positions involve extensive electrical installation work in fast-paced construction environments. Candidates may be considered for day or night shifts based on their experience, licensing, and project needs.
Responsibilities
- Install conduit, raceway, cable tray, and other electrical pathways.
- Pull, route, dress, and support electrical cable.
- Install and terminate low- and medium-voltage power systems.
- Install or support switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, panelboards, PDUs, busway, and related distribution equipment.
- Read and work from electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, layouts, and project specifications.
- Complete equipment connections, grounding, and bonding.
- Assist with electrical testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and commissioning.
- Maintain installation quality while following electrical safety, LOTO, and jobsite procedures.
- Support less-experienced electricians when working in a journeyman-level capacity.
Candidates specializing in medium voltage may also:
- Install and support underground medium-voltage distribution systems.
- Prepare, splice, and terminate insulated or shielded MV cable.
- Work with 5 kV, 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, or 15 kV-class systems.
- Install termination kits, stress-control components, lugs, connectors, shielding, and grounding.
- Support switchgear, transformer, substation, and relay-related work.
Requirements
- Commercial, industrial, data center, power-generation, manufacturing, semiconductor, or comparable heavy electrical construction experience.
- Hands-on experience with conduit or raceway installation, cable pulling, electrical equipment installation, or terminations.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, layouts, and one-line diagrams.
- Understanding of electrical codes, grounding and bonding, and safe work practices.
- Ability to work approximately 60–72 hours per week on a construction schedule.
- Willingness to work onsite and remain open to a contract-to-hire opportunity.
An electrical license is required for licensed journeyman openings but is not required for every available position.
Preferred Experience
- Data center or other mission-critical construction.
- Low- and/or medium-voltage power distribution.
- Switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, transfer switches, panelboards, PDUs, or busway.
- Underground electrical distribution.
- Shielded medium-voltage cable preparation and termination.
- Cable splicing and commissioning support.
- NCCER certification.
- NETA certification or electrical testing experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Position Details
- Locations: Brownsville, TX and Memphis, TN
- Schedule: Day and night shifts available; typically six 12-hour shifts per week
- Hours: Approximately 60–72+ hours per week
- Employment Type: 13-week contract-to-hire
- Compensation: Approximately $30–$55 per hour, depending on experience, licensing, voltage specialization, shift, and project
- Per Diem: Up to $125 per day for eligible travelers or relocating candidates
