Automation & Controls Technician – Industrial Construction

Location: Brownsville, TX
Pay: $42/hr
Per Diem: $125/day
Schedule: 6 days/week | 12-hour day shifts (72 hours/week)
Employment Type: 13-Week Contract-to-Hire, with potential for extension or permanent employment

We are hiring experienced Automation & Controls Technicians for a large-scale data center construction project in Brownsville, TX. Candidates must have hands-on experience building and wiring control panels, terminating industrial instrumentation, and troubleshooting electrical control systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire PLC and industrial control panels from electrical drawings.

• Terminate instrumentation, including transducers, RTDs, and solenoids.

• Wire motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, and other control devices.

• Perform electrical wiring, field terminations, and troubleshooting.

• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel drawings.

• Label, organize, and test control panel wiring.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industrial automation, controls, or DCS experience.

• Hands-on PLC/control panel building and wiring experience required.

• Experience terminating industrial instrumentation and control devices.

• Familiarity with VFDs, motor starters, sensors, and control signals.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and wire equipment from prints.

• Understanding of 4–20mA signals and industrial controls wiring.

• Availability to work 72 hours per week.

Preferred: Experience in industrial manufacturing, data centers, power generation, oil and gas, or control panel fabrication.
