Goose Creek, SC | Long-Term Shipyard Opportunity

$45/HR + PER DIEM | 6+ YEAR PROJECT

PMQS is actively recruiting experienced Structural Welders for a long-term shipyard opportunity in Goose Creek, South Carolina! We're looking for skilled welders with recent shipyard experience who are confident in their welding abilities and prepared to complete the required weld testing.

Pay & Position Details

• Pay: $45.00 per hour (successful weld testing required)

• Per Diem: $120 per day for eligible non-local candidates

• Project Duration: 6+ Years

• Location: Goose Creek, SC

• Department: C100

Work Schedule

First 2 Weeks:

• Monday–Friday

• 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

• Five 12-hour shifts

After Initial 2 Weeks:

• Second Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM

• Schedule is subject to change based on production needs.

Experience Requirements

• MUST have shipyard experience within the past 3 years.

• Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or additional education with a high school diploma or equivalent; OR

• Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant associate's degree with 3 years of related experience.

• Experience welding steel and aluminum components and assemblies.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.

• Experience performing structural welding to required tolerances and quality standards.

• Ability to complete required welding tests.

Required Welding Tests

Candidates must be prepared to complete the following:

1. 1-inch double-bevel Pulse welding test

2. ¾-inch Spray welding test with backing strip

3. ¾-inch ceramic backing T-joint test

4. 1-inch ceramic backing Pulse welding test

5. Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on specified 1-inch plates, including a T-joint with multiple stops and starts

Additional Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship REQUIRED

• Must pass a background check.

• Must pass a hair follicle drug screening.

• Recent shipyard experience within the last 3 years is mandatory.

• Must be flexible with shift changes.

• Must be capable of meeting required welding quality and testing standards.
