Minimum 4 years commercial/naval experience as First Class Shipfitter:
Multi-pass Tack Welding
Burning-oxygen/propane burning torch
Comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprint, and sketches
Understanding of fractional dimensions with the use of rulers
Layoff piece parts for fabrications and assembly
Assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner
Use of Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute work
Be able to use vibratory tools, grinders and needle guns
Ability to erect, set and makeup complex shaped shell plates, decks, bulkheads, longitudinal trunks
Install and replace hull inserts and penetrations
Must be able to climb up/down vertical ladder, bend, squat, kneel, work in confined spaces and around moving equipment
Additional/Optional skills: rigger/material handling, optical instrumental experience, tank testing, shipwright/erect and set experience, and mobile...
