Job Title: Maintenance Electrician – Sawmill

Location: Live Oak, Florida 
Pay Rate: $40.00/hour
Hours: 55 hours/week (5x10 schedule)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our sawmill team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial machinery maintenance and electrical systems, ensuring that all production equipment operates safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and industrial machinery.
  • Work with production equipment such as conveyors, saws, planers, chippers, and debarkers.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot motors, VFDs, starters, relays, sensors, and control panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic for diagnostic purposes.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Work safely following lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to resolve mechanical or electrical issues quickly.
  • Assist with upgrades, installations, and modifications of production equipment as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance or industrial electrician, preferably in sawmill, woodworking, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, and motor control systems.
  • Experience with PLC, VFD, hydraulics, and pneumatics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to work a 5x10 schedule (55 hours per week).
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus.
