Job Description
The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems for commercial and industrial mechanical projects. This role requires expertise in interpreting blueprints, working with various piping materials, and ensuring all systems meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and weld pipes using hand and power tools.
- Install piping systems including hydronic, steam, chilled water, natural gas, compressed air, and plumbing systems.
- Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and related equipment according to project specifications.
- Perform hydrostatic and pressure tests to identify leaks and ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with welders, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other trades on job sites.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair existing piping systems as needed.
- Accurately document work completed and report progress to supervisors.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Working Hours: 40+ hours per week
