Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled TIG Pipe Welder with proven experience welding heavy-wall pipe for industrial projects. This role requires expertise in performing precision GTAW welds on 2.5" Double Extra Heavy (.552 wall) pipe in the 6G position, while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and code requirements.

This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality welding work across industrial construction and mechanical piping projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on 2.5" Double Extra Heavy (.552 wall) pipe in the 6G position

• Execute full penetration welds meeting code and inspection standards

• Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and WPS (Weld Procedures)

• Perform pipe prep, including fit-up, beveling, and alignment

• Maintain proper heat input, bead profile, and weld integrity for heavy-wall applications

• Ensure welds pass visual inspection and NDT (RT/X-ray) requirements

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience TIG welding heavy-wall pipe

• Demonstrated ability to weld in 6G position

• Experience with double extra heavy (.552 wall) pipe

• Ability to pass a 6G TIG weld test

• Strong ability to read blueprints and weld procedures

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, mechanical, or pipe fabrication environments

• Experience welding stainless and/or carbon pipe

• Familiarity with ASME and code welding standards

• Additional processes (SMAW/Stick or MIG) a plus
