RoadDog Jobs is seeking experienced Pipefitters for a long-term opportunity at a fabrication shop in Northlake, TX. Candidates should have experience fitting and assembling carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems from fabrication drawings in a shop environment.

This position is ideal for pipefitters who can accurately interpret drawings, perform quality fit-up, and work efficiently in a production fabrication setting.

Pay & Schedule

• $38.00/hour
• $100/day per diem, paid all 7 days for qualified travelers who work full scheduled hours
• 60 hours/week
• Monday through Saturday, 10-hour shifts
• Long-term opportunity

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret piping fabrication drawings
• Lay out, fit, and assemble carbon steel and stainless steel pipe
• Assemble pre-fabricated pipe spools to print
• Properly fit flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, and other piping components
• Verify assemblies are plumb, level, square, and within tolerance
• Maintain proper weld gaps and fit-up quality
• Perform accurate measuring, layout, and pipe preparation
• Work closely with welders to ensure proper assembly
• Inspect completed fit-up before welding
• Follow all company safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of pipefitting experience
• Experience fitting carbon steel piping required
• Stainless steel experience preferred
• Previous fabrication shop experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Working knowledge of rolling offsets and swing joints required
• Strong measuring, layout, and fabrication skills
• Ability to use tape measures, levels, squares, and standard pipefitting tools
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime

Hands-On Fit Test
Candidates will complete a practical pipefitter test that includes:

• Assemble 3 different pre-cut pipe spools from fabrication drawings
• All pipe and fittings are pre-cut
• Candidate is responsible for layout, fit-up, and assembly
• Demonstrate proper flange orientation, alignment, and fit-up
• Assemblies must be plumb, level, square, and within tolerance
• 3-hour time limit
• One cut-out/rework permitted if needed
