Sheet Metal Mechanic - Richmond, Virginia

Pay: $22 to $32/hour (DOE) | Per Diem: $120/day | Duration: 6+ months

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics at both the Helper and Journeyman level to support a commercial data center construction project in the Richmond, Virginia area. This position is well suited for a sheet metal professional with a strong foundation in ductwork fabrication and installation who is seeking stable, long-term employment on a large-scale commercial project. Candidates with prior experience installing ductwork in commercial or industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do
As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and support of ductwork systems within an active data center construction environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Fabricate, install, and hang sheet metal ductwork in accordance with project drawings and specifications
• Interpret and work from mechanical layouts, blueprints, and installation documentation
• Collaborate with the assigned crew to maintain project timelines and installation schedules
• Maintain tools and equipment in accordance with safety and operational standards
• Adhere to all site safety protocols and procedures within an active commercial construction environment
• Report progress, delays, or installation issues to the crew lead or foreman in a timely manner

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in sheet metal ductwork fabrication and/or installation
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layout documentation
• Ability to work effectively within a commercial or industrial construction environment
• Possession of standard hand tools required for the role
• Reliable means of transportation to the assigned job site

Preferred:

• Journeyman-level sheet metal experience
• Prior experience on data center or other large-scale commercial construction projects
• Familiarity with layout work, coil line operation, or plasma table fabrication
