Job Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced 1st Class Welders for industrial and marine work. Qualified candidates will have proven experience performing structural repairs on carbon steel using the SMAW (Stick) welding process in a heavy industrial, shipyard, or marine environment.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in structural welding and carbon steel repairs and able to produce quality welds while working safely in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform SMAW (Stick) welding on barges, marine equipment, and other heavy industrial structures.
  • Perform structural repairs and modifications on carbon steel components.
  • Weld lap joints and other structural welds in accordance with company and customer specifications.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Operate hand and power tools used in welding and fabrication.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional welding experience in an industrial, shipyard, or barge repair environment.
  • Proficiency welding with 3/16" 6010 electrodes.
  • Demonstrated ability to weld lap joints on carbon steel to required quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and repair drawings.
  • Experience performing carbon steel fabrication and structural repairs.
  • Strong understanding of welding and fabrication practices in heavy industrial or marine environments.
