Job Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring an experienced Combo Fitter Welder for a project in Paducah, KY. Qualified candidates must have strong welding and fitting skills, along with the ability to successfully complete a series of welding tests on carbon steel plate.
The ideal candidate will be proficient with multiple welding processes, demonstrate first-class torch cutting skills, and be capable of producing high-quality structural welds in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding tests using 3/32" 6011 and 6010 electrodes and 1/16" flux-core wire on 3/8" carbon steel plate.
- Produce quality butt welds with a 1/8" groove and square edge (no bevel) on carbon steel plate.
- Perform fitting and welding work according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Demonstrate first-class torch cutting ability.
- Use a torch to effectively wash welds when required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience with 6011 and 6010 electrodes.
- Experience using flux-core welding processes on carbon steel.
- Ability to successfully pass required welding tests.
- Proven ability to produce butt welds with a 1/8" groove and square edge (no bevel).
- Excellent torch cutting skills.
- Ability to effectively wash welds with a torch.
- Strong understanding of welding and fitting practices.
- Ability to consistently meet project quality and safety requirements.
