TIG Pipe Welder | $40/hr + $140/Day Per Diem | DFW Area, TX

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking experienced TIG Pipe Welders for a long-term opportunity at a large pipe fabrication shop in the Dallas–Fort Worth, TX area.

We are looking for welders with professional TIG/GTAW pipe welding experience on either carbon steel or stainless steel pipe. Candidates do not need experience with both materials.

You will test and be assigned work based on your experience:

• Carbon Steel TIG Welders: Test and weld carbon steel pipe
• Stainless Steel TIG Welders: Test and weld stainless steel pipe

This is a high-production fabrication environment where consistent weld quality, strong pipe welding fundamentals, and the ability to meet shop quality standards are essential.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $40.00/hour
• Per Diem: $140/day, paid all 7 days for qualified travelers
• Schedule: Monday–Saturday
• Hours: 60 hours per week
• Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM | 10-hour shifts
• Duration: Long-term opportunity

Qualified travelers must reside at least 60 miles from the jobsite to receive per diem. Employees must work their full scheduled hours to maintain eligibility for seven-day per diem.

What You'll Do

• Perform TIG/GTAW welding on carbon steel or stainless steel pipe
• Complete root, fill, and cap welds according to applicable welding procedures
• Perform proper purge welding when assigned to stainless steel work
• Weld fabricated pipe spools in required positions
• Inspect pipe preparation and fit-up prior to welding
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and specifications
• Maintain proper penetration, bead profile, heat control, and overall weld quality
• Identify and correct weld defects when necessary
• Coordinate with pipefitters, production supervisors, and quality control personnel
• Maintain welding equipment and a clean, organized work area
• Follow all shop safety, quality, and welding procedures

What We're Looking For

• Professional TIG/GTAW pipe welding experience required
• Experience welding carbon steel OR stainless steel pipe
• Experience with both materials is not required
• Stainless steel welders must understand proper purge welding procedures
• Strong knowledge of pipe preparation, fit-up, and welding techniques
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Previous pipe fabrication shop experience preferred
• Ability to successfully complete the applicable hands-on weld test
• Reliable attendance and availability to work scheduled overtime

Hands-On Weld Test

Candidates will test on the material that matches their professional welding experience.

Carbon Steel TIG Welders

• Complete a TIG pipe weld test on carbon steel
• Successful candidates will be assigned carbon steel welding work

Stainless Steel TIG Welders

• Complete a TIG pipe weld test on stainless steel
• Successful candidates will be assigned stainless steel welding work

Weld tests will be evaluated based on technique, penetration, consistency, appearance, and overall weld quality.
